MASKEN, MASKEN; KIPPEL 2014, SWITZERLAND
video installation in the Stall
( mirror, light, wood)
The idea of protection for our survival is connected to the figure of the mask. The mask has a meaning of identification, simulation and defense. I think the mask is something that appear as an immutable, and that give power; paradoxically the mask occult and reveal.
The other element that often acts as a mask is the mirror, the vision we have of us in a mirror is in any way the one in the mask. Because the mirror is the most terrible mask, the more impressive, the unnamed contact with the intangible delusion. Mirrors always links with us beyond space and starts as it ends up being metaphysical.
